OBITUARY
Robert J Holmes Jr., 60, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Feb.5th, 2013 from a short and aggressive battle with cancer.Robert was born November 11th, 1952 in Aurora, IL to mother Frances and Father Robert. He has spent his entire career as an engineer, and for the past 15 years at Fox Meter in Lisle, IL. Robert was also actively involved in the boy scouts for 15 years, proudly achieving the Wood Badge award for adults.
He is survived by his children; daughters Michelle (Chris) Griffith, Grace Holmes; sons Robert J. Holmes III and Michael Holmes; his mother Frances; sisters Linda McMicken, Diane Shaw, Patty Carlson and brother, John Holmes.
He was preceded in death by his father and niece, Heather.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Friday February 8th, 2013 at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E Main Street, (corner of Rt. 25 & Rt.64) St. Charles, IL 60174. Burial will be at Union Cemetery, St. Charles, IL. Visitation will be from 4-8:00 PM Thursday, February 7th, 2013 at Yurs Funeral Home of St. Charles.
Flowers are welcome but donations may be made to the Three Fires Boy Scout Council in St. Charles in honor of Bob’s love for the Boy Scouts. Donations may be mailed to the Three Fires Office at 415 N. 2nd Street, St. Charles, IL 60174. Please make sure to include on the memo line, “In memory of Bob Holmes”.

I remember meeting Mr. Holmes at the dorm Freshman year when he helped move Michelle and he was so kind to help me move my stuff around that little room! After that, all the memories of coming to St. Charles and being welcomed into his home, ASU graduation party and the grand wedding in Mexico! He was a great man and will be missed!
