Roger L Jensen, age 79, of St Charles Il passed away suddenly on Saturday June 27, 2020.
He was born on September 30, 1940 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin to George and Claire Jensen.
He worked for Caterpillar Inc for over 30 years as an Electrical Research Engineer at the Mossville Illinois plant. He received his Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and was also a Professional Engineer.
He enjoyed bicycle riding, shooting black powder, and reading books specifically history and mystery ones.
He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus both in the Peoria area while still working and then the Batavia area once he retired. Upon his retirement, he moved to St Charles becoming involved as a volunteer at the Northern Illinois Food Bank and played Mexican Train (dominos) through the Adult Activity Center as part of the St Charles Park District.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 53 years Sandy, son Eric, and daughter Janis (Brian) Kwasniewski, grandsons Sergeant Zacharaih T Kwasniewski and Lance Corporal I. Nicholas Kwasniewski along with his cousin Claire Lucille Bowen.
He was proceeded in death by both his parents and his brother Doug.
Memorial visitation will be held at the Yurs Funeral home in Geneva on Tuesday July 7th from 4-8pm. Gravesides services will be on Wednesday July 8th at 10am at Prairie Cemetery in St Charles.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to United Service Organization (USO) which helps support military service members; K9 for Veterans Nfp which provides trained service dogs to Veterans with PTSD; or Northern Illinois Food Bank which helps to feed the hungry in the Northern Illinois area.
