Cassandra Lynne, 35, of St. Charles, IL passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. She was born on May 9, 1987, in Elgin, IL as the daughter of Phil and Laura Newmeyer. Cassie was a beloved sister to Lindsay, as well as a granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend.

She had the most beautiful smile that could light up our soul. She was funny, outgoing, and most enjoyed everything relating to Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. She was a true Gryffindor, fiercely loyal to her friends and family. She was passionate for animal and human rights causes, spending her time volunteering at animal shelters, the Niabi Zoo, marching for women’s rights, and participating in the 2008 Obama presidential campaign.

Cassie loved movie nights, music, dancing, swimming in her pool with family and friends, laughing, and telling stories. She loved decorating the house for holidays, like Halloween and Christmas.

We will always remember her infectious smile, hazel eyes, and caring nature. Her presence in our lives will be sorely missed.

Cassie was preceded in death by her grandpa, Jorge Mota, her grandma, Carolyn Newmeyer, and many other family members from the Mota, Antuna, and Newmeyer (Michigan) families. She leaves behind her parents Phil and Laura Newmeyer, sister Lindsay Newmeyer and brother-in-law Daniel Tsutsumi, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

When you think of Cassie, celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember that life is fragile, short, and meant to be lived to the fullest.

Friends and family will be received on Monday, February 13, 2023, from 4:00-8:00pm at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E Main St, St. Charles, IL 60174. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Resurrection Catholic Parish, 30W350 Army Trail Rd, Wayne, IL 60184 followed by a luncheon.
