Obituaries

She was loved and admired by her children, grandchildren and countless friends.

The daughter of Frank and Marie O’Rourke, Kathleen was born November 20, 1936.  On December 26, 1959, she married the love of her life, Robert A. Chapski, at St. Laurence Church in Elgin, Illinois.

A lifelong Elgin resident, Kathleen loved traveling, reading, baking the best chocolate chip cookies and being with her family.  She was also a member of the Fideliter Club of Elgin. Kathleen was a dear and loyal friend to many all over the country.  People knew her name and appreciated her generosity after their first encounter. She had an uncanny way of creating immediate and lasting friendships.  Her generosity knew no limits.

Survivors include her daughter Anne Marie Chapski-Doyen (Mike), sons John (Kristin), Michael (Karen), and Robert (Cherie), grandchildren Kathleen Doyen, Elyse, Ryan, Sydney, Thomas, Sean, Alexa, and Cole Chapski.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and grandson, Christopher Doyen (Thomas David).

Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, February 11, 2023 at The Abbey Church of St. Augustine of Canterbury, Marmion Academy, Aurora, Illinois. A visitation will precede the mass from 9:45 to 10:30 A.M. at The  Abbey Church. Internment will be at Prairie Cemetery, Crane Rd., St. Charles, Illinois.
