Veteran Services at Yurs Funeral Homes

Upon the family’s request, Public Law 106-65 requires that every eligible Veteran receive a military funeral honors ceremony which includes folding and presenting the United States burial flag and the playing of Taps from two or more uniformed military persons with at least one being a member of the Veteran’s parent service of the armed forces.

If a veteran service is requested by the loved ones family, Yurs can contact the Department of Defense (DOD) to arrange the military funeral honors on behalf of the Veteran’s family. We can also contact the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) National Cemetery Administration to arrange military funeral honors at a VA National Cemetery.  Our local VA National Cemetery is Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
