Richard J. Treonis 77 died Wednesday March 3, 2021 at home. Richard was born October 15, 1943 in Oak Park, Illinois. He was the son of John and Frances Treonis.
Rich was first a letter Carrier and then a Union Activist for 60+ years up until the time of his death. Rich had just received the prestigious Harry S. Truman Award for 2021 for many years of tireless service for the Democratic Party. Rich loved his wife Colette and his Nascar races. He would get all his family involved in going to races all over the United States. He loved traveling with family and friends and taking his beloved camper on many road trips.
He is survived by his spouse Colette, children; Amy John (Shannon) Nicholas, stepchildren; Nicholas and Josh, grandchildren; Alex, Tyler, Zane and Jack, sister Carol (Robert) and many nieces and nephews and his beloved Golden Retriever Heidi.
Rich was preceded in death by his parents, brother and daughter.
Visitation will be 4-8:00 P.M. Monday, March 8, 2021 at Yurs Funeral Home 405 E. Main Street, St. Charles, Illinois 60174. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, March 9 2021at St. Patrick Crane Road Catholic Church, 6N491 Crane Road, St. Charles, Illinois 60175. Burial will be private.
