Obituaries

Kent W. Bickford, age 68, passed away on April 20, 2026.

Kent was born in 1958 and grew up in Niles, Illinois. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.  After graduation he worked in the retail grocery trade and earned his CPA certification.  He joined the family business, Clyde’s Delicious Donuts, in 1981.  As President, Kent provided financial leadership and direction during a time of tremendous growth for the company for more than 35 years until his retirement in 2017.

He was a loving husband to Sybil, and a devoted father to Meaghan and Hannah.

He is preceded in his journey to heaven by his father, Willard, his mother Norma, and his sister Kathryn (Tissue). He is survived by his loving wife of more than 30 years, Sybil, his daughters, Meaghan (Konczak) and Hannah, brother Kim (Doreen), nieces and nephews, Rachel (Kloosterman), Joshua (Melanie), Matthew (Abigail), Kirsten (Oosterbaan) and Grandsons, Matthew, Benjamin, and Parker.

A memorial visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon – 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Yurs Funeral Home (1771 West State Street, Geneva, IL 60134) A Memorial service will follow at the funeral home at 3:00 P.M.
