Carl earned the Eagle Scout Award while he lived in North Riverside.

Carl majored in History and graduated from Valparaiso University’s Christ College Honors Program.

His Christian faith was important to him throughout his life. He enjoyed teaching English as a second language to adults, working at the Aurora Public Library and the Museum of Science and Industry.

He is survived by his brother Kenneth N. and sister-in-law Melanie, nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents Carl N. and Frances, sister Katherine Coyner and brother-in-law Karl Coyner.

Funeral service and burial will be held at 11:00am, June 19th, 2026 at Chapel Hill Gardens West, 17W201 Roosevelt Rd., Oakbrook Terrace, IL.

Reverend Steve Abend will be officiating.
