Joyce M. Ringstad, 83, of Geneva, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 7th, 2026, at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva. She was born March 15th, 1943, in Mississippi, the Daughter of Cortez and Bertha (Hall) Lentz.

She is survived by her husband David of Geneva, Illinois, her daughter Dawn of Elburn, Illinois, and granddaughter Emma of Chicago, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Erik Ringstad, and her brother, Tom Lentz and sisters Julie (Lentz) Wilewski and Bernice Lentz.

Joyce put her whole heart into everything she loved. As a wife and mother, she had a way of making the people around her feel like they were the center of her world. Sewing was her creative outlet which she passed on to her daughter, inspiring her to create costumes.

She had a gift for finding joy in the simple things. A meal at Red Lobster or favorite Chinese restaurant was always something to look forward to. Cruises were something she really enjoyed with her husband David. With over 40 of them, seeing every corner of the world. She was a regular member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Geneva, where her community became a natural extension of her family.

Later in life, Joyce found a second calling in the housing market. What started with selling homes grew into something she truly loved — helping families in the Geneva and St. Charles area build their dream homes by working through custom floor plans together. She had a natural instinct for design, but what set her apart was where she pointed people. Joyce had a knack for steering buyers toward choices that looked great and saved them money — and that mattered to her. Helping a family get more house for their budget wasn’t just good business. For Joyce, it was the whole point.

Visitation and service details:

Visitation for Joyce will begin from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm Sunday, July 26th, 2026, at Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 West State Street, Geneva. A memorial service held by a priest will follow The Visitation at 3:00 pm.

It’s a time to gather together and remember Joyce the way she would have loved — surrounded by the people who mattered most to her, with stories of a life well lived and a heart that left its mark on everyone it touched.
