Therese Celine McCarthy, 100, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

The daughter of Phillip and Sophia Bock (nee Vojtas), Therese was born February 17, 1926, in Chicago, Illinois. She married the love of her life, Donald McCarthy, on August 10, 1946. Throughout their time together, they lived in Chicago, Villa Park, and Saint Charles where they would settle down.

She worked for many years for AT&T and even worked as a long lines telephone operator during World War II.

Therese was very active in her children’s lives, being involved in scouting and camping with the kids. She was a warm and gracious individual who always put others before herself. She shared a special relationship with her nieces and nephews, spending time and keeping in touch with them regularly.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Neiler; son, Terrence (Rosemary) McCarthy; daughter-in-law, Barbara McCarthy; grandchildren, Kevin (Tara) McCarthy and Kelly (Brandon) Allen; great-grandchildren, Makayla, Alivia, Archer, and Kynlee; great-great-grandsons, Knox and Harley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; Son, Patrick McCarthy; son-in-law, Daniel Neiler; and all four of her siblings.

A visitation will be held for Therese on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at Yurs Funeral Home of Geneva, 1771 West State Street, Geneva, Illinois. Funeral service to immediately follow. A luncheon will be held following the funeral service at Mio Modo, 200 S 2nd St, St. Charles, IL 60174; all are welcome to join.
