“Lucy” Reita Arlene Myers, age 85, of St. Charles, peacefully passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Seasons Hospice in Naperville, Illinois.

She was born February 13, 1937, in Herrin, Illinois to Leroy and Mabel Kemp.

Lucy was a hard worker.  She worked at Liquid Container in West Chicago for 35 years.  She was retired for a year, when she was asked to fill in at the front desk of Pineview Nursing Home, which was supposed to be for two weeks and turned out to be 15 years.  She just retired from there in September of 2021.  Lucy was an avid sports fan and enjoyed cheering for her favorite teams.  Anyone Lucy met was a friend for life.  She enjoyed playing bingo and had many bingo friends.

Mrs. Myers is survived by three children, Jerry Peterson, Donna (Tony) Holbrook and Karen Binder, grandchildren, Holly (Dan) Orland, Eric (Kristi) Holbrook, Josh (Molly) Holbrook, Adam Holbrook, Jeremy Peterson, Wednesday Peterson, Brandon (Sara) Baenke and Tatum (Ethan) Seckinger, great-grandchildren, Samantha, Spencer and Sydney Albrecht, Herman, Olive, Johnny, Mason, Tara, Kaden, Gavin, Carson, and Lena Holbrook, Braylee Seckinger, Rowan and Baby Girl Baenke.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Myers, two children, Steve Peterson and an Infant, Clyda Louise Peterson, her mother, Mabel Meadors and a great grandchild, Drayden Seckinger

Reita’s family would especially like to thank Seasons Hospice for their care and support through this time.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 9th at Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 West State Street, (Rt. 38), Geneva.  Burial will be at River Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Batavia.  Visitation will be Friday from 2-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Hydrocephalus Association, http://www.hydroassoc.org
