Andrés Santiago Vélez, born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026, at the age of 81. A man of resilience and deep-rooted values, Andrés lived a life shaped by experience, strength, and the bonds of family.
He is lovingly remembered by the mother of his children, Lucrecia Rivera, and by his children: his son Andrés “Andresito” Santiago and his wife, Lisette Tovar; his son José “Alfredito” Santiago and his wife, Portia Santiago; and his daughter Natasha Alexandra Varela and her husband, Jorge Luis Varela.
Andrés took great pride in his growing family and is survived by his cherished grandchildren: Andre Julian, Ashley Nicole, Jordan Alexander, and Alyssa Gabrielle; Alexandra Madison, Angelina Marie, Joseph Leonard, Anthony Michael, and Amara Evelyn Rose; Javier Luis, Ariana Mercedes, and Amalia Francesca. He was also blessed to see the next generation with his great-grandchildren Isabela Mia, Aria Camila, and Lucian Callum.
He will be remembered for the love he gave, the life he lived, and the family he leaves behind. His memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
