Abby Landgraf peacefully passed away with her family nearby on April 28, 2023. Born on November 29, 1937 in Salem, Missouri to Jesse and Della Ray. Abby was preceded in death by her daughter, Alane and her brother Lawrence. Survived by her husband Bill, daughter, Christy, and son Will and brother Ross.

Abby was raised in St. Joseph Missouri and then met Bill while training in Madison Wisconsin with IBM. After Bill’s graduation from the University Wisconsin, they moved to New York City where Bill worked in advertising for J Walter Thompson, and Abby worked for Kennecott Copper and had their daughter Alane. Several years later, Abby and Bill moved to Minneapolis where Christy was born. In 1970 the family moved again to the Chicago area and had their son Will.

After raising her family, Abby worked for Inland Communications Corporation where she was the Vice President and Treasurer.

In semi retirement Abby was a Realtor, and owned an antique and art business in Hayward Wisconsin where they had a summer lake house. This is where Abby found her passion for gardening, and a love of Hostas. She had over 150 varieties and was always looking for a new variety of Hosta to add to her garden. For over 47 years the family had a lake home. Abby and her family enjoyed the beauty of the woods and the water.

A memorial service celebrating Abby’s life will held 10:00am on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the Congregational United Church of Christ, 40W 451 Fox Mill Blvd., St. Charles, IL 60174.
