Arthur William Larson, 74, died at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, June 20,
after a 7-year battle with lung cancer.
The son of Nathan and Esther, Arthur was born on September 22, 1949, in Aurora, Illinois. He
grew up with 4 siblings in Geneva. He attended Harrison Street Elementary, and Geneva
middle and high schools. He graduated from Geneva High School class of 1967. He attended
Sterling College in Kansas before being drafted. He proudly served in the 82nd airborne
division of the US Army from 1970 to 1972.
On June 11, 1977, he married Joanne Czerwinski (nee Hagen) at Geneva Lutheran Church. He
was proud to become father to two boys, Chad and Jason. They later welcomed a daughter,
Kristina, to complete their family.
They loved camping trips as a family when the kids were younger. He loved riding his Harley,
taking trips out west, and visited Sturgis several times. Art, as he was called by all who knew
him, spent over 50 years as a tool and die maker. He learned alongside his dad at Burgess
Norton, and then opened his own shop, Prairie Machine and Tool, in Sugar Grove in the early
1990’s.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne; 3 children, sons Chad (Shari) Czerwinski, and Jason
(Michelle) Czerwinski, and daughter Kristina (Eric) Aden; six grandchildren – Rian, Katherine
(John-Michel), Colin, Avery, Hadley and Emery; and his 4 siblings, Margaret (Rob), Linnea
(Jeff), Calvin (Kathy), and Shelly (Mike), and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nathan William Larson, and mother, Esther Jeanette
Larson (nee Double), and his grandfather (and namesake) Arthur William Larson.
The funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 24th at Yurs Funeral Home, 1771
W. State Street in Geneva. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Geneva. Family and Friends will gather for visitation from 2-6:00 P.M., Sunday, June 23rd also at Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 W. State Street in Geneva. Donations in Art’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital online at www.stjude.org/give.html

"My sincere condolences to Art's loving family and friends. Art and I went way back as East Siders and through grade school, scouts and the many years that went by all too quickly. I treasured his infectious smile, quick wit, great conversation and camaraderie on the all-too-rare occasions I could join pur Class of '67 gatherings in more recent years."

"Art was more then my Cousin he and I were inseparable right from the day our Moms put us together as Baby's. That bonding grew throughout our lives and never wavered. Art you will always be in my thoughts everyday no doubt. Love to the entire family and a special hug to Joanne."
Steve Mountsier from Mayfield Heights, OH
"To Art’s family: I am sorry to hear the sad news about Art. I graduated with Art, but actually got to know him better at our class reunions. I’d like to share a thought from the Bible. When Jesus’ friend Lazarus died, Jesus told his sister Martha: “Your brother will rise.” Imagine the reunion that will be. (John 11:23,24) Later, when Jesus saw Lazarus’ family and friends mourning, Jesus gave way to tears. (John 11:33-35) It’s comforting to know that Jesus and his Father in heaven mourn with us when we lose a loved one. Please accept my sincere condolences. Sincerely, Steve Mountsier"

"Both of Art's parents grew up in the same east State Street neighborhood in Geneva as did my mother and her four siblings, so they were all life-long friends. Thus, I knew Art and his sister , but as well as I now wish.He was a machinist, as was my Dad, and I visited him sometimes at his shop, then located in Sugar Grove. He was a hard worker, always busy in his shop. He was a hard worker"
