Betty Balk, 74, died Sunday, March 31, 2024, in the company of her loving family. She was greatly loved by her husband, children, grandchildren and their families.
The daughter of Lester and Doris (Reid) Heyerman, Betty was born on October 18, 1949, in Kankakee, Illinois. When Betty was only a toddler her family moved to Aurora, Illinois. On May 28th, 1972, she married John Thomas Balk at Wesley United Methodist Church in Aurora.
Betty is survived by her husband, John, sons Michael (Carey) and Bryan (Katie), her brother Thomas (Connie) Heyerman and grandchildren Parker, Gavin, Greyson, Bennett and Nolan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Nancy Phillips of Chatham, Illinois.
A Memorial Visitation will be held 1:00-3:00 P.M., Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Yurs Funeral Home of Geneva, 1771 West State Street, Geneva, Illinois, 60134. Interment will be private at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Geneva.
Donations in Betty’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.

"John and family, we are so so sorry to lose our friend and neighbor. When we moved here, Betty was the first person to welcome us with a visit and a lovely plant which I kept alive for many years.
