Betty J. Patrick was born 1944, in Rockingham, North Carolina to John T. and the late Margaret P. Grant. Betty passed from this life and into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 20, 2021. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
On a blind date on New Year’s Eve 1964 she met James Patrick; and in December of 1965 they married. They lived a love like few others – together for 56 years and created an extraordinary life together in Batavia, IL.
James and Betty raised one daughter, Patricia and one son, James Jr.. Betty loved to sew, craft and make quilts, and was always willing to help others in need. Much of Betty’s time was spent reading the Lords’ word, and bible study was always a priority. She loved to cook traditional southern food and play cards with friends and family.
Betty is survived by her loving husband, James: daughter, Patricia (David) Flowers and son James (Christine) Patrick Jr, her Father John T. Grant Sr., and the shining lights in her life – her seven grandchildren: Sam Grant, Amber Grant, Ashley Grant, Hailey (Andrew) Frits, Miranda Lynn Patrick, Betty Grace Flowers and David Flowers II, and one great-grand child, Adriana Grant. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Betty was preceded in death by her mother Margret, her Brothers John T Grant Jr. and Tony Grant and her son Tim Grant.
A memorial service will be held May 28, 2021. Visitation for 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Yurs funeral home 1771 W State St, Geneva, IL 60134

"Betty was such a loving mother. She had an intuition when it came to her children, and she always knew when they needed her. She is so deeply missed by her family, and will never leave our hearts."
