"Bruce and I were both members of the same flying club that he enjoyed so much. Every member of the club depended on him in so many ways large and small. He and I spent one very cold winter working together on a glider in a drafty old barn to get it ready for spring flying. We had to overcome one obstacle after another and Bruce came back weekend after weekend with different ideas on how to finally get this project done. He never gave up and he was always there to help. That was Bruce. He was greatly respected by all. I considered him a close friend and cannot express how much I will miss him. My deepest consolences to his extended family, wife and son."

John Baker from Barrington, IL
"Bruce was a friend and valued member of our glider club. My last phone conversation with Bruce was just before our year-end annual club meeting when I asked Bruce if he would help count election ballots. He asked me "how could I count them if I am on the ballot?" and I responded, "you are running uncontested and I feel that everyone in the club would agree you are above reproach". At times like that I looked to Bruce for his unwavering integrity, sense of fair play, and his sense of fairness to all our club members. Bruce put the greater good above his own.Bruce's spirt made him first among us, Bruce lived the following passages and was an inspiration to all of us: . Mark 9:35 - “And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, “If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.” . 2 Corinthians 9:7 - “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." . Romans 12:9-10 - "Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves."I will dearly miss him, my deepest condolences to Ann, Ryan and his extended family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you…"
