Carmela “Melina” Catalano, who was the heart of our family, passed away peacefully on August 13th, 2026.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing her love will remain with us always.

Born in Altavilla Milicia, Sicily on August 25th 1954 to Antonino and Angela Bondi, Melina lived a life defined by strength, generosity, and unwavering love for her family.

Above all, Melina was a devoted wife to Salvatore Catalano, cherished mother to Enza, Peter, Todd, and Allie, and loving Nonna to AJ, Luke, Corinne, and Christian. She is survived by siblings, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.

Melina was known by all, for her faith, love, generosity, and compassion. She was a talented natural artist who found joy in sharing her artwork with loved ones. She found joy in tending to her flowers and making everyone who entered her home feel welcomed.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and all who provided compassionate care during her illness.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered forever.

Friends and Family will gather for visitation at Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 W State Street,Geneva IL on Friday August 21st from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M.
