Obituaries

Cynthia Fay Gordon-Norbut, age 74, of St. Charles passed away Friday, October 23, 2026 at St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin.

She was born October 16, 1952 in Oak Park, Illinois to Marshall and Shirley Gordon.

Cynthia (Fay) had an extraordinary love for reading, travel, cats and most importantly; family. She was the undisputed household Jeopardy champion whom obtained her master’s degree from Western Illinois University. Fay spent her early career in counseling before moving onto a more fulfilling career of loving wife and mother. She built a life with a foundation of love, compassion and encouragement.

Cynthia is survived by her husband of 43 years, Felix, two children,  Zach and Alexandra Norbut, a granddaughter, McKenna Norbut, a sister, Jackie (Pat) Farrelly and three brothers, Neil Gordon, Mike (Kim) Gordon and Scott (Diane) Gordon.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Memorial Service at Noon. Thursday November 5th Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 West State Street, (Rt. 38), Geneva.
