"Lisa, Taylor & Nicole... I am so sorry to hear about your loss! Dale's mother and my mother were very close friends. Close enough to name their sons the same. Dale and I were best of friends throughout our childhood. Unfortunately, I lost contact with him when our family moved out of state during our high school years. I often think about all the good times we had together with our friends from the neighborhood and also tried tracking him down through social media. I am very sorry that we never had a chance to reconnect. I wish you all the best through these hard times. Dale will not be forgotten!"

Mike and Barb Kearney from Jacksonville, FL
"Dale has been a great friend of the Kearney family since our days at Glenbard East. Dale, Todd, and Larry have a special, best friendship that has endured for over 40 years. Fortunately for many including me as Todd's older brother and Barb, my wife, these three best friends let us join in the happenings and fun in high school, college, and after. Whether a party at the Kearney house, at an Iowa State event, at a Kearney weddings, or more recently at my dad's funeral, we laughed, cried, and enjoyed life. So many great memories. Things we'll always remember about Dale is his sense humor, positive energy, ability to connect with anyone, the great candy, his smile, his kindness but most of all his friendship. Barb and I pray for peace and comfort for your family now and the days ahead."

"I am truly stunned to hear that one of my favorite high school athletes has passed. I knew Dale as a scrawny freshman in high school who played initially for me on the B basketball team. As he grew an matured it was as if he had been given "springs" in his legs which lead him to place 3rd in the high jump at conference at 5'10" his junior year. What took place the next year was the miracle that everyone likes to hear as he not only won the conference high jump title but also placed 2nd overall in the state, jumping 6'9". I will never forget when Dale cleared 6'9" for the first time. The realization of having accomplished this feet was followed by him skipping over to see me at the fence with his eyes a blaze and his a huge smile on his face. I was so blessed to have coached such a great athlete and person. God bless you Dale Acton!"
