Obituary

Daniel A. Geoppo, 66, died peacefully Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

A self-proclaimed geek, Dan spent the majority of his career as an admired computer software instructor for various companies. He was an avid reader and consistently learning. Dan was frequently found with the newest program, coding or systems manual, a piece of literature that let his imagination run wild with thoughts of parallel universes or epic sagas such as Lord of the Rings. He was known for his rock and roll knowledge and love of songs with great beats. Dan will be remembered fondly for his excellent music recommendations, often recalling obscure tracks or covers many never heard, and fantastic air or steering wheel drumming skills.

Dan is survived by his wife, Nancy. His brother Timothy, his wife Jackie and their sons: Christian, Nicholas and Joshua. His sister-in-law Lisa and her children, Selene (Brandon) and Sasha (Derrick). Sister-in-law Janet (Jay) and their children, Steven (Heather), Kelly (Kate), Christopher (Amanda), Annie (Scott), and Elizabeth (Mike). His brother-in-law, Richard and his daughters Jenna (Matt) and Jill (Jaymes). And several great-nieces and nephews and cousins.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Patrick.

Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, March 6th from 11:00 A.M. to  2:00 P.M. at the Yurs Funeral Home 1771 W. State Street (Rte 38) Geneva. Don’t forget, “The hoodie is the new cardigan.” Feel free to wear something comfortable, a flannel and jeans or a hoodie is perfect.
