Elaine C. Kowall

Elaine C. Kowall, 91, of Elgin, formerly of Arlington Heights, IL, passed away on March 9, 2020. She was born on January 7, 1929 in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Catherine (Strass) Lang.  She married her husband, Richard V. Kowall, on June 11, 1949.  Together they celebrated 70 years of marriage.

Elaine was a loving wife and a matriarch of the family.  While working outside home she enjoyed employment at Greyhound Bus Company, Wieboldt’s Department Store, and First Chicago Bank.  When she wasn’t working, Elaine was a great homemaker.  Baking was her specialty.  Her joy in life was family celebrations and gatherings.  Elaine was best known to the family for her unceasing prayers for others.

She is survived by her loving husband, 4 children, Richard J. (Barbara), Robert (Audrey), Linda (Dennis) Bell, and Janice (Brice) Soltys, 13 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Bernice Kotowski and Celine Carmody, grandchild, Joseph Kurt Kowall, and great grandchild, Avery Rann.

Funeral Services will be on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 6N491 Crane Road, St. Charles.  Visitation begins at 9:00 AM.  The Funeral Mass is at 10:30 AM.  Burial will be at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
