Eric Otten, 61, originally of Morton Grove, died August 14, 2019 in St Charles, after a long extended battle with complications from a brain tumor.

Eric is the son of the late William and Lydia Otten; beloved father of Carly and Maggie Norton; brother of Mark and Roberta; best friend of Scott Diener and Mark Ehrman.

Eric was an Evans Scholar University of Wisconsin graduate in 1981, and was an experienced almost scratch golfer.  He took great pleasure in playing guitar and conversing with friends across the US and the globe over his love of music.  He enjoyed sharing his musical prowess with his daughters to ensure their love of classic rock and roll, blues and all types of music.  He also enjoyed traveling to New Zealand to spend time with his brother and extended family.

A memorial service will be held at the United Church of Christ, 1192 Olesen Dr, Naperville IL at 10am on September 12th, 2019.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eric’s name to the Evans Scholars Foundation or the American Brain Tumor Association.

"I had JUST HEARD TODAY that you had passed away, Eric. And it is now April, 2024!! I wish I would’ve heard of this right when it happened. I would have come to your funeral in a moments notice. You were there for me after I was hurt, reading the sports pages to me. If I had known, I would’ve been there for you, Eric. I miss you more than you can imagine."
