Dr. Frank Benjamin Kaufman, 79, passed away on December 26, 2022 with his family by his side.

Frank was born on June 23, 1943 to Michael (Father) and Blanka (Mother) Kaufman.

After Frank graduated from Yonkers High school, he went through an undergraduate program and then attended John Hopkins University, where he graduated with a PhD in Organic Chemistry. After a couple of years at Imperial College in London, he joined IBM Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY in 1973, where he met his wife, Vlasta.

Frank and Vlasta had two beautiful children, Michael and Cara. As a family they traveled all over the world. Frank was a decent hiker, an enthusiastic skier, good runner, and excellent swimmer. He also enjoyed listening to classical music, ABBA, Annie Lenox and U2.

His family moved to Geneva, IL. Where he worked as a Senior scientist at Cabot Microelectronics in Aurora, Il.

After retiring he continued to being active and traveling frequently to Croatia with family.

Frank touched many hearts and will be remembered as a quiet and gentle man with an honest smile.

A celebration of life will be announced and held at a later date.
