Obituaries

Frederick Donald Schrauth died Monday April 29th at the Grove in St. Charles.  He was greatly loved by his family and friends.

Fred was the son of Cornelius and Edith (Rowcliff) Schrauth.  He was born on February 11, 1936.  On February 9th, 1967 he married Lois Cronsell.

Fred was a long time member of the Northern Illinois Steam Power Club.  He was a Kane county employee for many years until his retirement.  Regardless of all his health issues, Fred was always positive, caring and ready to go for a road trip or have a good meal.  He loved birds and watched and fed them daily.   Fred was a man who loved life every day.

Survived by his brother in-law Rich Kramer, step-son Robert (Phyllis) Cronsell, step daughters Sharon Carney and Connie (Don) Wickman, nephew Ken (Kim) Kramer and many other nephews, nieces and grand children.

Preceded in death by his wife Lois, daughter Connie, sister Marge Kramer  brothers Leroy and Robert and step-son in law Seamus Carney.

Visitation is Friday, May 3rd from 9-11am at Yurs Funeral home of Geneva, 1771 W. State Street.   The service will be at 11am.   Interment will be at West Batavia Cemetery in Batavia, 900 South Batavia Avenue.

Donations in Fred’s memory may be made to the cancer society, Audubon society or any other charity of your choice.
