George V. Kaseeska, Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of George Kaseeska, 92 years young, who passed away December 15, 2021 with family surrounding him.
George was born March 13, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of George and Elsie Kaseeska. He served in the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion. He fell in love with and married Roseanne Grenke in 1954, celebrating 65 years of marriage until her death in August 2019. He was also preceded in death by his son Mark, his parents, brother Gordan and sister Lillian. He is survived by his brother Greg, his children Laura Anderko, Terese Barnard, Julie Jackson, and Matthew Kaseeska, 10 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. George was a family man, especially delighting in spending time with his great-grandchildren.
George was a union carpenter, building his dream home at 70 years old which he and Roseanne turned into a bed and breakfast, called Windhaven. He loved a glass of red wine with his dinner each night (preferring Carlo Rossi) and was an avid cook and baker. He especially enjoyed making soup and baking cookies.
He loved music and was known to spontaneously break into song – Johnny Mathis and Vic Damone were a couple of his favorite singers.
George was happiest when he was outdoors. He was an avid gardener, starting plants from seeds and growing native flowers that would support bees from the beehive in his backyard. His yard was filled with birdfeeders which attracted songbirds and woodpeckers.
George had an intense curiosity for life, which kept him young and engaged with the world until the end.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue Inc. the American Indian College Fund, or Anderson Animal Shelter
