Guillermina Zokal, age 93, died on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 in St. Charles, Illinois.
Born on March 26, 1930 in Montemorelos, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Alicia Rodriguez DeLeon and
Guadalupe Rodriguez.
Mina went to American School in Monterrey, Mexico and worked in banking. She moved to the United
States in 1952. On November 24, 1954, she married Rudolph Zokal. Mina and Rudy lived in Chicago for
18 years and built and lived in their treasured Downers Grove home for 46 years, where they held
innumerable family barbeques, Sunday dinners, and family gatherings.
Mina and Rudy loved to travel and journeyed throughout Mexico and the United States including
California, Florida, New Orleans, Niagara Falls. They especially loved cross country road trips with Mina’s
sister, Laura, and brother-in-law, Bob. In 2003, Mina and Rudy took their dream trip to Europe and
visited Germany, France, Budapest, Slovenia, Poland, and Austria.
Survived by her beloved sister, Laurinda (Laura) Hanschman, and loving brother, Guillermo Rodriguez,
and many adoring nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her cherished husband, Rudy: Sisters; Mila and Estela, and Brother, Leoncio.
Memorial Service will be held at Yur’s Funeral Home, July 22, 2023. Visitation at 10:30 a.m., Service at
11:00 a.m.
