Jack Lautenschlager passed away at his home on June 27, 2025. He was born on October 9, 1941 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, the son of Reuben and Lucille Lautenschlager. Jack graduated from Central High School in 1959, and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1964 with a BS in geography and a minor in geology.

On January 4, 1964, he married Marjorie Strohschoen at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheboygan, and in February reported to Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island. In June of 1964 he was commissioned as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy.

His military career as an Intelligence Officer took him and his family to Florida, Colorado, Washington, California, Hawaii, Japan, and Guam. He served on the aircraft carrier USS Constellation CVA 64, FICPAC in Hawaii, and VQ-1 in Japan and Guam, where every 3rd month he would spend 4-6 weeks in Da Nang, Viet Nam. After returning to the continental US as a civilian in 1973, he and his family spent 1 year in Wisconsin.

In 1974 they moved to Geneva, IL, and his civilian career began at Belden Corporation in Geneva and ended with retirement from Northrop Grumman in Rolling Meadows in 2003.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marjorie, and children Jon (Cindy Haughn), Eric (Naomi), and Amy (Daryl Hauck); grandchildren Dana Lautenschlager (Billy Mencel), Rey, Alene, Haley, and Von Lautenschlager, Trevor and India Owens, Nathan Hauck and Jayson (Amber) Hauck, great-granddaughter Lucy Lautenschlager, brother Mark (Judy), and sisters Anne Lautenschlager, and Beth Olson (John).

A gathering for family and friends will be held on his birthday October 9th from 1 to 3:00 P.M.at the Yurs Funeral Home 1771 West State Street (Rte 38) Geneva
