"When I first met Jim, I thought here is an irascible guy. Once I got to know Jim, I found that he was quick to help and share with his many years of experience and was always straight to the point. Jim, I will miss you and find myself grateful for the many conversations we shared. Be gentle on St. Pete, he may not have been given a heads up."

Sue Krause from Cassville , WI

Wally Mazurek from St. Charles, IL

"Dzia Dzia will forever be my grandpa. I am so glad that I was able to get close to him, especially these past couple of years. His personality was infectious. He told funny jokes, laughed at your jokes (even if they weren’t funny) and could just brighten up the whole room. He had a gift.I loved his stories he would tell. The stories would range from how life was different when he was growing up, to having his car break down on a vacation and how Stanco has customers in different countries. I always found them so interesting, and asked questions.I appreciated the time he took out of his day to spend with me. He would watch me play sports, especially bowling. And when he couldn’t come, he’d love to hear about it over the phone. I appreciated that he would come to Birthday dinners. It was so special to have his presence there.Dzia Dzia and I had this running gag where whenever it was time to go, we’d always play a game of tag. It may sound like a little thing, but it just put a smile on both our faces.Thank you Dzia Dzia for all the smiles you have put on everyone’s faces throughout the years. I love you so much.Love, Wally Jr."

Neville Gallon from South Elgin, IL

"I met Jim many years ago through work. The first time I met him I recognize his wonderful sense of humor. His company would supply us with parts for our equipment. I would stand in his office and just enjoyed talking to him and would chuckle at his remarks, I would look forward to our visits together.Later I began to know Jim on a personal level, as well as his sons. I admired how much care and love he had for his family and his willingness to help them. All members of his family foster a deep love and closeness for each other, this is something which is seldom seen in todays world.Jim had good values and ethics and would not take advantage of anyone. I could always trust him and the advise he would give me. I believe that he has passed this trait on to his family as well.It is an honor to know such a great man, and he will truly be missed. Jim, may God bless you and your family."

Charlie Mazurek from St Charles , IL

"I loved and cherished every single second I spent with my Dzia Dzia, from the funny stories he would tell me, to the life lessons he would share with me he truly made a huge impact on my life. He always knew how to cheer you up even in the darkest times. The last few weeks before he passed he was in one of his darkest spots not being able to walk and even though he was dealing with these challenges he still never let that get to him and he was still cheerful. He was the most generous, and genuine person you could ever meet. I have so many unforgettable moments with my Dzia dzia, and I cherish them all. To me my grandfather was always a inspiration and role model to me. The last words I told my grandfather were “ I want to be just like you when I’m grown up.” He was so much more than just a character, my grandpa was the best husband, the best dad, and the best Dzia Dzia anyone could have asked for. He is truly a special person to everyone that knew him and he will never be forgotten. We all love you Dzia Dzia and we truly thank you for everything you have done for everyone. You will never be forgotten, and I look forward to the day I will see you again as you greet me into the gates of heaven. I love you forever dzia dzia."

"Words cannot begin to express the sorrow a wife has when a husband passes away!. Please accept my deepest condolences for you Barbara and your family as well!"

Lisa Mazurek from St. Charles, IL

"Jim is my father-in-law, and I love him so much. When I met Jim close to 20 years ago, he said to me, “Who the hell are you?” I knew from that moment on that we’d get along very well. He was funny, witty, accepting and so kind. He loved his family above everything else. During his last month of life, he would often tell me how his family was terrific, just wonderful! His love for his beloved wife, Barb of 63 years was very evident. He said he was a lucky guy to have been married to the love of his life. He didn’t know how she did it all, but that she did it well. He was so proud of her and very grateful for all that she did for their family. They worked well together raising five kids and running the family business, Stanco which was started in 1915 by his father Stanley. Jim worked at Stanco for 64 years and became President and CEO in 1974. He was so proud of his children, and they brought him great joy. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He spent many years attending their sporting events, musical programs, driving the boat at their cottage in Wisconsin among many other activities. He was the patriarch of the Mazurek Family. Jim is so loved and missed, but we all know he will be our forever guardian angel. Rest In Peace Jim! Love, Lisa"

Keith Hastings from Gilbert, AZ

"To the entire Mazurek Family, I’m so sorry to hear of Jim’s (Mr. Mazurek's) passing. It’s been a while since I last saw him, but looking at his picture he hasn’t changed a bit. He always had a smile on his face and would bring a smile to anyone he was around. The question for all these years is now going unanswered….. Who had the loudest voice amongst the neighbors? Was it Jim or Ted? Not sure we will ever know and the debate will continue. It’s difficult losing the ones we love. The memories that each of you have of Jim will stay with you forever and no one can take those from you. I hope those memories help ease some of the pain. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time."

Cheryl L Benson from Vicksburg, MI

"I always referred to Jim as Big Jim, because talking with him, he was larger than life. He was straight to the point and didn't mince words always willing to discuss technical issues and offer his experience. I shall truly miss that. I enjoyed working with him as well as the entire team at Stanco, whom I am blessed to also call my friends. I'm going to miss Jim, he was from the greatest generation and we're better off for having known him. My sincere condolences to the Mazurek family."

Pam Purcell from St. Charles, IL
