James (Jim) Beauregard, 81, of Geneva, Illinois, passed away at Delnor Hospital on December 29, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Jim was born in Detroit, Michigan, and was the son of the late Loretta and Harold Beauregard. He attended Austin Catholic Prep High School and then graduated from the University of Notre Dame, with a major in math. After college, Jim met his future wife Nancy on a blind date in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. Jim led a successful career in computer and software sales with AAA, Parke Davis Pharmaceuticals, Service Bureau Corporation, Control Data Corporation and Husky Computers. Jim and Nancy began their family in Grosse Pointe Woods and then over the years raised two daughters in Anderson Township, Ohio; Ridgefield, Connecticut; and Indian Hill, Ohio. Since retiring, for the past 11 years, they made Geneva their home to be close to their daughters and grandchildren who live in Geneva and Wilmette, Illinois.
Jim was an avid sports fan. He always watched football and baseball games, and of course golf matches, from the comfort of his family room or office. He never missed a chance to watch his Fighting Irish, Michigan Wolverines (supporting Nancy’s alma mater), Detroit Lions and Tigers or any PGA Tour event. In his free time, he loved to golf, spend time with friends at Eagle Brook Country Club’s pool and social events, walk his dog Abigail, and attend his grandsons’ sporting events. He had a great sense of humor with a quick wit and could recall any fact about sports or history. He was his daughters’ first call for advice, and his grandsons absolutely adored their “Baba.” He cherished his family most of all and was so loved by them. He is and will forever be dearly missed.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Nancy; daughters Stephanie Beauregard Donovan of Wilmette and Kimberly (Ryan) Sumrak of Geneva; and grandchildren Kieran (19), Quinn (17), Hayden (15) and Reece (12). He was preceded in death by his sister Patricia (Jim) Begin.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 W. State Street, Geneva, Illinois, (630) 232-7337.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully prefers a donation to a charity of your choosing in Jim’s memory.

Lindsey Luther from Glen Ellyn , IL
"I was absolutely heartbroken to hear about Jim’s passing. The times at the pool during those seven years I was employed at EBCC were filled with so many wonderful memories, and Jim was such a big part of them. I’ll always treasure those moments and the joy he brought to so many. I’m so grateful for the opportunity i had to see Jim in October—it means even more now. Sending all my love and deepest condolences to everyone who was lucky enough to know and love him. I will miss him dearly."
