James John Erickson Jr. of Batavia, IL passed away peacefully on Monday, June 8^th, 2026.

The eldest son of James Sr. and Gladys Erickson, James was born on June 18^th,1939 in Chicago, IL. On July 17^th, 1965, he married Diane Hanschmann at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Chicago. In 1967 they moved to Glendale Heights, IL and raised their five children. They were active members of St. Matthew Catholic Church where Jim taught religious education classes and served as a eucharistic minister. Jim was a dedicated family man, a music enthusiast, and a life-long Chicago Cubs fan.

James is survived by his five children – Thomas (Debra), Laura (Jeff Brick), Donald (Carrie), Kathleen, and Steven (Alicia); twelve grandchildren – Kristine, Daniel (Jackie), Tyler (Doleah), Cameron, Benjamin, Ethan (Mo), Reece, Emma, Kyrstin, Samuel, Shane, and Riley; and four great-grandchildren Brooklyn, Lillyan, Beck and Nathan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane, and brothers – Robert, Patrick, and Michael.
