James R. Tagliere, 77, of Elgin, died Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at his home.

He was born March 25, 1947, in Chicago, Il. The son of the late James & Anna Tagliere.

He was a U.S. Army National Guard veteran and a Chicago Police Officer who retired after 31 years of dedicated service.

He was a member of the Edgewater’s Veterans Group.

James is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia. Also survived by three daughters, Angela (her partner Dominic Giovingo) Murphy, Amy (Michael) Jursich, and Allison (Robert) Farrell and grandchildren, Abigail and Grace Murphy, Alyssa, Kaylie, and Michael Jursich, and Walker, Brianna, and Madelyn Farrell.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Tagliere.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. at the Yurs Funeral Home 1771 West State Street (Rte 38) Geneva.

Funeral Mass will be Monday at 11 A.M. St. Thomas More Church 215 Thomas More Dr., Elgin.
