Janet L. Swanson, age 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at her home in Phoenix, AZ. She was born September 29, 1938, in Cambridge, Ohio to Edward and Goldie (Harris) McCormick. She was a 1956 graduate of Proviso East High School, in Illinois. Janet worked at Northern Illinois Gas Company, where she met her husband, Arthur W. Swanson, Jr. Janet and Art raised their three children in Glen Ellyn and St. Charles.

Janet became a Certified Nurse Assistant and worked in Geneva, IL at a retirement facility. Janet loved watching old movies and television shows. Janet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was kind, creative, thoughtful, and sweet. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her granddogs.

Janet is survived by her three children, Karen (Mike) O’Shaughnessy of Phoenix, AZ; Valerie (Adam) Rosenzweig of Deerfield Beach, FL.; Douglas (Laurie) Swanson of North Aurora; five grandchildren, Kaitlin (Tyler) Thursby, Kelly, Kayla and Kara O’Shaughnessy; Max Rosenzweig; one great-grandchild, Ella Thursby; her brother, Russell (Florence Bartels) McCormick; and her sister, Evelyn Giorgetti. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, and her parents, Edward and Goldie.
