Obituaries

Jo Allen Hackett, age 70, of Wasco, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024. He was born March 26, 1954 in Batavia, Kane County, Illinois. The son of Charles Dale Hackett and Liska Etta Hackett. His parents preceded him in death.

Jo was a longtime resident Wasco, Illinois. He worked for many years, for the St. Charles Water Department until he retired a few years ago.

Jo was an ardent Chicago Bears fan through both wins and losses. He always found happiness with his friends working in the garage. Jo and his lifelong friend Randy Scott spent countless hours hunting. Jo loved his family and was loved in turn by them.

Jo is survived by his sister Janette Hackett Kirkham (Kent), of Brandon, Mississippi, two nephews, Charles Kirkham (Randi), of Brandon, Mississippi, and Andrew Kirkham, of Springfield, Illinois, great-nephew Nathaniel of Brandon, Mississippi, one Step-son Leon Krueger (Meriva), of Malta, Illinois, and his best friend Bonnie Hackett of Malta, Illinois.

He was loved and respected by so many. He may be gone, but will never be forgotten. His kindness, empathy, and wisdom left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Jo lives on through the example he set and the love he gave his friends and family.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Yurs Funeral Home in Geneva on Sunday, April 14, 2024.
