John S. Svach, 67, of St Charles, passed peacefully in his home surrounded by family in the early hours of Monday, March 27th, 2023. He was born on October 26th, 1955 to John & Roberta Svach and lived in the Chicagoland area his whole life.
Two of John’s greatest passions in life were driving and his family. He enjoyed a fulfilling career driving for several companies. John ultimately retired from AT&T as a heavy truck driver after 22 years of service. Personally, John enjoyed long road trips and ventured to every corner of the United States including New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, but most of all he enjoyed driving to Tennessee where he could enjoy the mild climate and the view of the mountains. Anyone who knew John would tell you that his greatest joy was his grandkids, his family, and his friends. He loved being surrounded by his family more than anything else and enjoyed every second with his grandkids. John would often say his favorite people call him “Pop”, a title he cherished and wore proudly.
John was a big man with a bigger heart. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and he touched many lives this way. He was fun and outgoing, could quickly turn strangers into friends, and was always ready to crack a joke or sing a silly song. People were drawn to John’s big heart, his kind spirit, and his rosy cheeked smile. John will be missed but his kindness will never be forgotten.
John is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary Ann (Unterfranz) Svach, his daughters Faith (Bill) Sax (Bud, Henry, Eloise & George) and Annie (Ray) Anderson (Flora & Colleen), his mother, Roberta (Cervenka) Hawthorne, and brother Steve (Sonia) Svach. He was welcomed in heaven by those who have gone before him; his father, John Svach and his mother in law, Dolores Unterfranz.
A Memorial Visitation will be Friday, March 31, 2023 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Geneva Lutheran Church, 301 South 3rd Street, Geneva, Illinois 60134. A Memorial Service will follow the visitation at 11:00 A.M. at Geneva Lutheran Church. A Luncheon will follow the service in the fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society or Felines Canines.org.
Condolences

"John was a great guy. He trained me when I had to move from St Louis to Northlake. I worked with him at AT&T. He even gave me a ride to work one time when he lived in Naperville. I lived in Bolingbrook. I remember his tattoo. I asked him about it & he said he liked Halloween. I even kept in contact with him. He told me when he retired. I am truly sorry for your loss. He will never be forgotten."
