Jon Daryl Parris, 81, of Geneva, Illinois passed away peacefully on Friday, January 19th. He will be deeply missed by his children, family, and friends.

Jon was born in Sandwich, Illinois on July 16th, 1942, to Alfred and Jeannette (Gord) Parris. He grew up in St. Charles and loved the Fox Valley area dearly. He had fond memories of Little Woods School and The Little Store that his parents owned.

He was a graduate of St. Charles High School in St. Charles, IL, Augustana College in Rock Island, IL, and Livingston University in Livingston, AL. Jon worked at Spraying Systems in Glendale Heights for 36 years. For the last several years, he enjoyed his retirement immensely.

Jon is survived by his two children, Emily Parris of Geneva, IL, and Jacob (Meghan) Parris of Iowa Falls, IA; his nephew Kevin Allsup of St. Charles, IL, and his nieces Kelly Allsup of Batavia, IL and Kari Mills of Cary, IL.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 26 years, Kathleen Parris, his sister, Joan (Robert) Allsup, and his niece, Kim (Dan) Coleman.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 3rd at 1:00 p.m. with a 3:00 p.m. memorial service at Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 W State St., Geneva, IL. A private burial will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich.

"I am deeply saddened by the loss of Jon. I met Jon in 1965 when we were fellow Peace Corps Volunteers in India XVI in India. He was very well liked by the other Volunteers in our group as well as by the people he served in India as evidenced by being invited to extend his tour in India which he did. I will miss getting together with him periodically. My condolences to Jon's family who will miss him greatly."
