"To my Dearest Friend, I’ve known Juanita since I was 15, 16 years old. When my parents moved away when I was 17 years old, Juanita was like my second mother and later a good friend. She would feed me… she would say you’re too skinny. You have to have another piece of chocolate pie. She loved her pies and her chocolate. She always had a crust ready in the cupboard so she could make a pie anytime in an instant. She would ask how my family was doing and all my sisters. She remembered all their names and there was a lot of sisters. She would ask about my children, Wesley and Heather. She was a kind, smart, lady that worked very hard her whole life. Very organized, everything was in its place.I enjoyed talking with her and listen to all the trips Woody and her took through out their years together. She would talk about her friends too. She didn’t laugh much, but I always got her to laugh and she got a kick out of that. Juanita and I were sitting in the lobby one day and we were talking. There were a few maintenance guys walking through and they all knew Juanita. They would stop and say hi to her. Juanita looked at me and said we have to find a husband for you. I just chuckled and said, no that’s OK but thank you.She loved to watch old movies and would read the Bible several times throughout her years. I asked her one day, what is her favorite verse in the Bible and she told me all of them. I thought that was a remarkable answer. Juanita loved her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Would remember all their names and how old they were.Love you Juanita, going to miss you, rest in peace."
