K. Jean (nee Young) Williams, age 82 of Sugar Grove, Illinois, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on January 29, 2022 after a short battle with liver cancer. She is survived by daughters Melissa J. (nee Williams) Hill of St. Charles, Illinois and Jennifer A. Williams of Geneva, Illinois; son-in-law Richard L. Williams, grandsons, Eric M. Williams and Ethan R. Williams of Geneva, Illinois; and brother John P. Young of Glen, New Hampshire. She was preceded in death by her dear husband Robert (Bob) Williams and parents Eugene and Kathryn (nee Foley) Young. Jean was born on June 15, 1939 in Portland, Maine. She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy in Portland and obtained her undergraduate degree from St. Joseph’s College, North Windom, Maine. Jean began her career as a Registered Medical Technologist at New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. She later moved to Denver, Colorado wherein she met her husband. The family later transferred to Illinois in 1975, establishing long-time roots in Naperville. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and supporting the University of Notre Dame and Colorado State University football teams. Her favorite vacations were to the family’s winter residence in Arizona and the annual houseboat trip to Lake Powell in Utah. A pre-service Reception and Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2300 Main St, Batavia, Illinois 60510, on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 10 a.m. Followed by the funeral mass at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church. |
