Kathy Jean (Reis) Garrett, 70, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 11, 2022, with her husband by her side.
The daughter of Bernice and Ronald Jessen, Kathy was born on March 15th, 1952, in Melrose Park, Illinois. She was the oldest of eight children.
Kathy and her late husband, Michael Todhunter, had two daughters Lynsey (39) and Ashley (36). Kathy found love again when she married William Garrett. Kathy and Bill moved to St. Charles, Illinois where they raised their daughters and have lived for the last 30 years.
Kathy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends. She loved antiques, cooking, entertaining, reading, politics, and so much more.
Kathy lit up every room she entered, her larger-than-life personality touched the lives of so many people. Kathy was a devout, life-long Catholic and parishioner of St. Patrick’s Parish for the last thirty years.
Survivors include husband, Bill Garrett, daughters Lynsey (Frank) Roe nee Todhunter and Ashley (Grant) Mancione nee Todhunter; four grandchildren – Calvin (7), Ruby (3.5), Remy (3.5), and Hayes(8mo). Admired sister of Valerie (Reis) Kohen, Sharon (Reis) Sasso, Lloyd Jessen, and Robert Jessen. Beloved aunt of thirty-two nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Michael Todhunter; loving parents Bernice and Ronald Jessen; and brother Wayne Jessen.
Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, June 18th, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 6N487 Crane Road, St. Charles, IL. Family and friends will gather for visitation from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Friday, June 17, 2022 at Yurs Funeral Home Geneva, 1771 W. State St., Geneva, IL 60134.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Amvets National Service Foundation.
