Kelly (“Gaby”) Collins, age 80, of St. Charles, IL unexpectedly passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. Kelly was born November 7, 1943, in Chicago to the late Kevin & Marion (Ahern) Kehoe. She was a graduate of Wheaton Community High School, Class of 1961, with her maiden name of Mary Kehoe.

She is survived by one son, Mike (Kathy) McGinley of St. Charles, IL and one granddaughter, Annette McGinley of Fort Myers, FL.

Kelly was an airline stewardess in her younger years, a bank manager for twenty years and then worked and volunteered in the healthcare industry in her later years. She enjoyed many travel excursions throughout the Caribbean and Europe. She loved sharing the stories of her travels abroad and the many exciting cruise experiences she had. Kelly was an avid book reader and enjoyed her TV shows and news programs. She enjoyed crocheting, meeting friends for dinner and playing daily Wordle games with her close friends. She loved her pets, especially her dog, Nellie; but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Kelly adored Annette and never missed her many events and activities.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 14th at 1:00 pm with a memorial service at 3:00 pm at the Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 W State St., Geneva, IL.

Memorials may be directed to either the St. Charles Park Foundation or Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley (FRV). Kelly enjoyed living in St. Charles for the past forty years and was always filling us in on the new local business openings and watching “What’s Happening in St. Charles Illinois” Facebook page. Gaby, loving mother, grandmother and dear friend, will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
