Kimberly Ann Hoffmann passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 5th, 2022. Kim was a gifted individual recognized for her philanthropy and Christian service. However, the role she was most passionately dedicated to was her role as a loving wife and mother. The second most important love in Kimberly’s life, second only to her love for Jesus, was her soul mate William. In Hebrews 13:4 it says, “…the two shall become one flesh” and from the moment they said, “I do” they were truly one- Kim and Bill. To all who knew Kim and Bill, it is clear that God brought them together, and they were inseparable in all seasons of life. They loved each other in a way that made everyone that met them believe in true love and as if the honeymoon phase never faded.
Alongside Bill, Kim raised two beautiful, smart, and accomplished children, bringing them up to love and serve the Lord. It was a mother that Kimberly truly shined her brightest. Kim was an incredibly devoted mother to her children, Ashley and Jake, who were and remain her everything. If you knew Kim, you know that more than anything in life she loved and cared selflessly for them. She will be greatly missed by many and will always be remembered for the legacy she left with us. Her family takes comfort in the knowledge that she is resting in Jesus’ faithful arms. Kim’s singular driving desire in life was to live her life in a way that when she passed, she would hear her personal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, say “well done my good and faithful servant.”
Kimberly was born on November 1, 1970, in Elmhurst, Illinois and raised in Bloomingdale, Illinois. As a young girl, Kim fell in love with figure skating, cheerleading, and equestrian riding. Kimberly attended high school at Wheaton Academy. She went on to study International Studies and Human Rights at DePaul University where she graduated at the top of her class in June of 2013 with multiple academic awards. She was also a certified nutritionist and completed the Saint Thomas University School of Law Human Trafficking Academy.
Kim loved to travel and visited over 50 countries in her lifetime. Her passion for international travel started as a youth. Kim began to travel in college where she studied abroad in China/Tibet, Thailand/Cambodia, Ireland, England, and Colombia. It was during her trip to Thailand that her passion for human rights activism was sparked. Kim later partnered with a local Christian ministry in Bangkok where she worked to liberate trafficked women and girls, even going so far as to enter brothels in the red-light district unarmed to rescue them herself. In addition to her work saving trafficking victims, Kimberly selflessly delivered school supplies and clothes to an orphanage in Columbia despite the local militias’ opposing efforts. She silently sponsored several children and displaced victims financially in multiple countries always trying to be the loving hands of Christ to those in need.
Throughout Kim’s life her commitment to Jesus was evident. From teaching Sunday School in children’s ministries and leading small groups to her international activism, Kim spent many years spreading the Gospel. Overwhelmed by compassionate awareness, Kimberly was called to start the RAIN Foundation, (Rescue and Aid for those In Need). During her tenure as the founding president, Kimberly raised millions to help those in great need. These are just some of the highlights of Kim’s personal ministry of compassion through Christ.
She is survived by her loving husband William J. Hoffmann, and her beloved children, Ashley Victoria Hoffmann-Plauché (Hunter) and Jacob Donald Hoffmann. Kimberly is the daughter of Allison Dudley and Virginia Tipton of Bloomingdale, Illinois and sister to Lisa Tipton-Brickert of Geneva, Illinois.
A Celebration of Life service will be held September 17th at Evangel Church, 5700 Bartels Road, Hanover Park, IL 60133 at 10:00 am followed by a luncheon at Revelry, 675 S. River St., Batavia, Illinois 60510.

"I travelled with Kim on several of her DePaul study abroad programs. Shortly before her first trip, which was to China and Tibet, Kim said she worried that she wouldn't be able to bear being away from her two beloved children for 12 days. She also had a sensible level of concern about what she'd encounter in a no frills cross country train ride through China. But she went anyway, It took courage for her to take that and many other leaps into the unknown. She challenged herself not to expand her own horizons, but to better understand the world she wanted to make a better place and to be a fearless, compassionate and giving role model for her kids. She succeeded beautifully."
