La Verne James Allen 89, passed away in Centuria, Wisconsin on Tuesday August 9, 2022. Vern was born on June 11, 1933 to Helen and Abner Allen in Hornell, New York. Vern Grew up in St. Charles, Illinois. He served his country from 1953-1955 during the Korean Conflict. Upon his return, Vern married the love of his life, Nellie Joan Ganoe on August 30, 1957, Settling in Geneva Illinois, to raise their family.

Vern is survived by his wife Nellie, son Greg (Gina), daughter Karen (Dan) Wortman, daughter Pamela (Andrew ‘Porty’) Portsmouth-Leyton, 10 Grandchildren, Kayla, Stephanie, Mason, Matthew (Ali) Wortman, Andrew (Emily) Wortman, Kristine, Timothy, Maximilian, Oliver, Quint, and three Great-Grandchildren.

Vern was preceded in death by his sons, Floyd and Lonnie, Brothers Leon ‘Deacon’, Roger, Howard and Ronald ‘Bill’.

A Memorial Visitation will be 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Yurs Funeral Home of Geneva, 1771 W. State Street, Illinois 60134. A Memorial Service will follow the visitation at 4:00 P.M. at Yurs Funeral Home.
