Lanny J. Frawley, 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, November 10, 2022.
Lanny was born on May 6, 1949, to Charles and Loeta Frawley. On December 26, 1970, he married his high school sweetheart Maureen Taff.
Lanny served in the Army during the Viet Nam War era until 1972.
Lanny attended George E. Thompson High School, Elgin Community College, and Northern Illinois University earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology and Education. He was a member of St. Patrick Church, the Moose, the Illinois State Rifle Association, and the National Rifle Association. Lanny will be especially remembered for receiving four United States Patents for Cable with High Frequency Suppresion, Battery Cable Termination, Two Piece Housing Reconfigurable with an Integral Hinge, and Housing for a Duct Smoke Detector.
Some of Lanny’s hobbies were talking all over the world on ham radio, working on cars, playing the guitar, watching old movies, particularly with his family, skiing, camping, and especially hunting. Lanny enjoyed spending time teaching his son John and his grandchildren about hunting and especially hunter safety. Many hunting trips were spent sharing their adventures and all the fun they had together. Lanny and Maureen traveled throughout Canada, Mexico, and the United States including Hawaii and Alaska.
Lanny is survived by his loving wife Maureen, beloved son, John and wife Terrie, his loving grandchildren, Brennan, Shea and Jack. Lanny is also survived by one brother, Don Frawley and wife Phyllis of Tipton, IN, and many nieces and nephews.
Lanny was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Rose Nunn, Jerry Frawley, and JeanAnn Henson.
Visitation will be held at St. Patrick Church 6N491 Crane Road, St. Charles, IL on November 26 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. The Funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Geneva, IL.
