Laurie Ann Riley, 46, of South Elgin, IL, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2023.
She will be most remembered for her kindness, generosity, infectious laugh, and strength. Laurie had an ability to positively impact her family and friends and will leave a strong legacy.
Laurie met her husband Chris in 1995 while they were both working part time in the shoe department of an athletic goods retailer. After they began dating, there was no looking back. Excited to start their lives together, the two were married in 2002 on the same date they began dating.
Laurie and Chris added to their family when they welcomed their daughter, Emily Mary, in 2005. Laurie was very excited to become a mother and Emily meant the world to her. There wasn’t a zoo or aquarium that the two wouldn’t enjoy together.
Laurie was proceeded in death by her grandparents, Carl and Emily Werner and Joseph Felice. She is survived by her husband Chris; daughter Emily; parents William and Linda Werner; grandmother JoAnn Felice, sisters Angela (Brian) Ritchie and Kassandra Werner; and nieces Autumn and Ava Ritchie. She had many cousins and friends that will dearly miss Laurie. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all that knew and loved her.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 4th from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Yurs Funeral Home of Geneva. A funeral service will be held Friday, January 5th at 10:30 A.M. at Yurs Funeral Home of Geneva. For more information, please contact Yurs Funeral Home at 630-232-7337.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Head for the Cure Foundation or Anderson Humane in Laurie’s honor.
