Obituaries

Luella Henrietta Wurtz born July 31st, 1935, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 30th, 2025.

She was the daughter of the late Louis H & Mary Ellen Kain Wurtz.

She was a 1953 graduate of Geneva High School.

After High School, she worked in the office at Burgess Norton, Geneva for several years.

Later in life, she worked at The St Charles Moose Lodge 1368 for many , many years. While there she wore many hats from waitressing to bartender, cook and kitchen manager.  She was a member of the College of Regents and a Life Member of the Moose. She is a past Recorder and Past Senior Regent.

She was a member of the Kane-Dupage Rural Youth and an avid bowler on their league where is was secretary for many years. She was on the state Square Dance Team. She  loved to travel, enjoyed doing her word searches and crocheting Afghan’s.

She is survived by one sister, Mary Lou (Kuhn) Miller, Genoa IL, one brother Micheal E. Wurtz, St Charles IL and one sister-in-law Sandra L. Wurtz, Geneva IL.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Mae Smith, 2 brothers, Nathan L Wurtz & Edward E Wurtz.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 8th, 2025, 9-11am at Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 West State St, Geneva IL with Funeral services at 11am . Graveside Services to follow at River Hill Memorial Park, Batavia IL
