Martha Lynn Dautel (Marti)
Marti Dautel passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on March 25, 1948 in Evanston, Illinois to William and Corrine Michel. She grew up in Roselle Illinois with her two brothers Scott Michel and Barry Michel, and her twin sister Laura Michel/ Yedinak. She is survived by her husband Donald Dautel and two children Todd Dautel and Danielle Dautel/Rahn. One of Marti’s greatest passions was her family’s cabin in the north woods of Minnesota where she had visited since she was a child and helped build by hand. She was close to her family and they were an important part of her life. Parenting her two wonderful children always gave great purpose and joy to her life. Marti graduated from Western Illinois University with a teaching degree and taught kindergarten because of her love for children. Marti married Don on July 27, 1974. She looked forward to decorating her home with themes for each season and holiday always incorporating her favorite color blue. She was devoted to her many circles of friends many of whom she had known 20 years or longer. She enjoyed organizing, preparing and cooking for social occasions. A Memorial Visitation will be Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 2-5 P.M. with a Service at 5:00 P.M. at the Yurs Funeral Home of Geneva, 1771 W. State St (Rte.38) Geneva, IL. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society

"Marti was one of the "core" members of our St. Charles Bunco Group for 25 years. We have watched her suffer with cancer, but more importantly we have witnessed her incredible enduring fight to survive. I will always remember that when I think of her and how blessed I was to have known such an incredible Lady. RIP my friend, until we meet again."
