The world lost a truly good man on October 29, 2025, when Michael R Kahn, 56, passed away. He was greatly loved by his wife, parents, siblings, and their families.

The son of Bill and Marie McSkimming was born on August 13, 1969 in LaGrange, Illinois. He married Rosemarie Zaloudek at Willow Creek Church in Barrington on September 10, 2005. Michael was a graduate of Northwestern University where he obtained a Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering. He was the President of PC Datanet in Elgin, Illinois specializing in cyber security. Michael was known for his hardworking spirit, generous heart, and unwavering kindness. He approached life with purpose and joy, always ready to lend a hand or share a smile.

A lifelong car enthusiast, Michael found great joy in competing in car shows where he won multiple trophies. He also served in the Cars Ministry at Willow Creek Church, where his passion became a way to connect with others and give back to his community. Michael also loved his time with the Elgin Coin Club and was also an avid stamp collector. His warmth, humor and compassion touched everyone who knew him. Whether under the hood of a classic car or sitting around a table with friends, he made people feel valued and cared for.

Survivors include his parents, Bill and Marie McSkimming, sister Robin (Gary) Mraz, brother Paul McSkimming, sister Jennifer McSkimming, aunt Joan and uncle Donald Jones, and dear cousins, nieces and nephews.

Michael will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he brightened through his generosity and friendship.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at Yurs Funeral Home,1771 West State Street, Geneva, Illinois. Family and friends will gather for visitation from 3-8:00 P.M., Friday, November 7th, 2025, with Joseph Jones officiating.
