Obituaries

Mildred K. Godfrey, 92, of Batavia, passed to her eternal home on Thursday, November 7, 2019.  She was the devoted wife of Charles F. Godfrey with whom she shared 59 years of marriage.  She was born and raised in Lansford, PA, the daughter of the late Florian and Zuzanna Kudella.  Mildred is preceded in death by her 3 brothers John, Joseph, and Vladimir, and her 3 sisters Christine, Elizabeth and Susan.  She will be lovingly remembered by three generations of nieces and nephews for whom she was much more than a favorite aunt.  She will also be fondly remembered by many friends from her career at Chicago City Bank and her residence at Heritage Woods of Batavia.  In memory of her legacy of love and a life well-lived, contributions may be made to St. John’s Slovak Lutheran Church, 1 E Abbott St, Lansford, PA 18232.
