Patricia Ann (“Pat”) Wood was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She passed away at Greenfields of Geneva, IL on May 26, 2023, at the age of 89.
Pat was born to Ernest and Kathryn Posey on August 27, 1933. She and her husband Robert (“Bob”), who preceded her in death in 2022, met at Schurz High School in Chicago and remained inseparable sweethearts through 68 years of marriage. Together they had three children Bob (Lise) of Tucson, AZ; Ken (Chris) of Elgin, IL, and Jim (Karen) of Indianapolis, IN.
She was a loving grandmother to eight grandchildren: Bob Wood, Bill Wood, Doug Wood, Jennifer Barton, Cyndi Mihalik, Scott Sulak, Sarah Velazquez and Daniel Wood. Pat was also great-grandmother to ten and recently became a great-great grandmother. She is survived by her brother Tom (Betty) Posey. Her sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Bob Moore preceded her in death.
Pat served as a Cub Scout den mother and was active in the PTA of Burbank Elementary School. In addition to being a homemaker she also worked for several years at Custom Tapes in Harwood Heights, IL. Pat’s life of dedication to family, friends, and neighbors will forever serve as an example for all who knew her.
The memorial visitation will be on August 5th, 2023 at Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 West State Street, Geneva, IL 60134, from 10:00-11:30 A.M with a memorial service following at 11:30 A.M.
