Raul D. Torres passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. He died peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of 62 years of Elvira and his legacy will be carried on by his children Ruben, James, Pilar, Marina & Raul Jr. as well as his well loved daughter-in-law Anita. He has 6 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren along with a multitude of nieces and nephews.
He was born in the picturesque town of Yahualica, Mexico in 1933 and moved to Chicago, IL in 1952. After finding and marrying the beautiful Elvira in 1956, he served the the US Army from 1956-1958. He went on to build a successful career as a Tool & Dye Maker and retired a valued and respected employee of Molex Corporation.
As a retiree, he and Elvira traveled throughout the Carribean, Europe and Mexico and he reveled in the joy of watching his family grow and start their own families.
When he was struck down with his illness he had the good fortune of being cared for by his family was never alone.
Raul was a good man who embodied honesty, integrity and humility, his loss will be felt greatly.
Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Sunday November 18, 2018 at Yurs Funeral Home 1771 W. State Street, Geneva, Illinois 60134. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 A.M., Monday November 19, 2018 at, Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 1415 W. Lies Road, Carol Stream, Illinois 60188. Entombment will be at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Wheaton, Illinois.
